Train as a Community Connector
Community Connectors are people in the community who help signpost friends, family and colleagues to support in the community. The more we all know about the groups/services that are out in our community, the more we can all support one another.
Please contact Health Connections Mendip to find out when the next FREE training course is and to book a place.
If you are not able to attend one of our training dates, we may be able to come to your group/organisation to offer the training. Training can be adapted to suit different audiences and can last from one hour to three hours depending on the group’s needs.
So far we have 511 Community Connectors in Mendip. From taxi drivers, hairdressers, town councillors to sixth form students, church congregations and support group members. Everyone can be a Community Connector.
If each Community Connector signposts 20 people a year that means that we can have 10,222 signposting conversations a year in Mendip.
We aim to train at least 200 Community Connectors a year. So by the end of 2018 we have a target of 700 Community Connectors.
